METIS includes a comprehensive events database tracking current and historical conflicts. The type of events covered include but are not limited to: conventional and irregular land, maritime and aerial warfare; terrorist insurgencies and lone wolf attacks; identification and detonations of explosive remnants of war; ordnance effect on critical infrastructure; discovered weapons caches; theft, loss or use of CBRN agents; civil unrest; hoax and false alarm incidents; and intimidation tactics using aircraft or naval vessels. Each event entry records what occurred, when and where it happened, and who reported it.
