The MK 40 are a series of US-developed 2.75 inch (≈69.9 mm) folding fin aerial rocket (FFAR) motors, which are used in conjunction with a warhead to form an all-up round. The MK 40 series were developed for firing from helicopters and low-speed aircraft, whilst the earlier MK 4 series were developed for high-speed aircraft.
