The OG-9VB (ОГ-9ВБ) round was developed in Bulgaria. Its introduction date is unknown, but rounds marked-up with production dates as early as 1983 have been seen. Unlike the Russian series of OG-9 projectiles, the OG-9B projectile of the OG-9VB uses preformed fragmentation technology to improve its effectiveness.
