MLD 040
The MLD 040 is a Swiss 35 mm high explosive incendiary tracer (HEI-T) projectile. The MLD 040 projectile is nose-fuzed, the fuze model fitted the mechanical point-detonating self-destruct (PDSD) KZD 338. The MLD 040 forms the projectile part of the 35 mm (35×228) PMD 040 cannon round. The PMD 040 round and its MLD 040 projectile were developed for use with the then Oerlikon KD-series of 35 mm cannon: KDA; KDB; KDC; KDE; and KDF.
