The '122 mm HEAT T-54' round is presumed to have been developed by the Iranian company DIO for use the Chinese-origin Type 54 122 mm howitzer; itself a copy of the Russian '122 mm Howitzer Model 1938' (M-30). The 122 mm HEAT T-54 round comprises a high explosive anti-tank fin-stabilized tracer (HEAT-FS-T) projectile, and separate cased propelling charge.
