The M61 is an Iranian, standard-range and pressure, steel-bodied, nose-fuzed, 60 mm high explosive fragmentation (HE-frag) mortar bomb round. The Iranian M61 mortar bomb would seem to be a further development of their later-design M49A2 round, but is normally fitted with a new tail fin assembly.
