The Type 58 is a cast iron-bodied anti-personnel fragmentation (APF) stake mine, and a direct copy of the Russian POMZ-2 (ПОМЗ-2). It is likely that when a POMZ-2 mine is reported in the media, the mine is in reality a foreign copy, such as the Chinese Type 58.
