The PM-79 is an obsolete pressure-operated anti-personnel blast mine superficially similar to the Russian PMN. Found in parts of Asia. All operational stocks have been destroyed. Training version may have a 'U' prefix. When the arming pin is removed from the mine, a wire at the end of the spring-loaded striker cuts its way through a lead strip.
