No. 5 Mk. I
The No. 5 Mk. I is a minimal metal (cardboard-cased) anti-personnel blast (APB) mine developed during World War II. The only metallic parts are: the detonator tube; a spring; two ball bearings; and the fuze mechanism. Later models are supplied with a circular metal pressure plate. The mine is either filled with approximately 190 grams of 50/50 Pentolite, or 50/50 TNT/RDX. The operating force is 6-12 pounds force (26.7-53.4 N).
