The M16 and M16A1 are APBF mines developed from the US M2 Series. The M16A1 is a modification of the M16, with a redesigned body, containing shorter detonators and different boosters. The fuze wells of both mines are threaded to accept the M605 combination fuze, which may be initiated by either pressure or pull on a tripwire.
