The DM31 is an anti-personnel (AP) bounding fragmentation (APBF) mine. The DM31 was copied from the Swedish Truppmina 11, which was also copied by Denmark as M/66. The internal design of the DM31 is very similar to that of the Russian OZM-72 (see separate entry). A smoke-producing practice version of the DM31, designated DM28, was also manufactured. German stocks of this mine have been destroyed, other than 3,000 that have ben retained...
