Very sensitive to heat, shock and friction. TATP has a sugar like appearance with a fruity smell, like acetone but gentler. Old TATP smells very acrid, like bad vinegar. It evaporates in an open container and if stored in a closed jar, the glass may look frosted. Additives can alter the physical appearance. May be stored in a refrigerator or freezer. Also known as Acetone Peroxide or Mother of Satan. IED Comments. Widely used.
