ANFO is a commercial blasting explosive used in quarrying and consists of ammonium nitrate mixed with a high grade oil depending on brand. In the improvised form diesel or kerosene is added to ammonium nitrate extracted from fertiliser. It is slightly less common than ANAL but is used in almost exactly the same manner. It normally has a smell of fuel. IED Components. Widely used.
