L2A2
Grenade
Hardware available
This is a defensive/fragmentation hand grenade. The L2A1 replaced the No. 36M series of fragmentation hand grenades. It closely resembles the M26 series of US hand grenades. The L2A2 was a modification of the L2A1 that it replaced. The primary modification was in the fuzewell. In 2000, the British Ministry of Defence replaced the L2A2 with the Swiss RUAG SM HG 85, which they designated as the L109A1 Enhanced Performance Grenade (EPG).
