M719 (PDSQ Fuze)
The XM719 is a mechanical point-detonating superquick (PDSQ) fuze used with 60 mm bursting smoke bombs. The M719 is based on the M525 series of mortar PD fuzes, differing in that: • It uses airflow through a restrictor to slow the fuze's arming slider; and • It has a far smaller booster charge assembly. It is not thought that the M719 was classified as standard, and as such would still use the 'XM' (experimental M-standard) designation...
