The AN-MK 247 MOD 0 is a US-developed, vane-armed, mechanical impact fuze, which is inert other than an attached 0.38" calibre blank cartridge. The AN-MK 247 MOD 0 is used in conjunction with the MK 6 MOD 0 signal charge, which has a thin metal casing that holds an ≈2 lb (≈907 g) black power charge. The AN-MK 247 MOD 0/MK 6 MOD 0 fuze/signal cartridge combination is used in conjunction with various practice aerial bombs.
