The SUU-49/B is a submunition dispenser that is similar to the US Navy's (USN) MK 7 family. The SUU-49/B forms the dispenser component of the CBU-55/B dispenser (cargo, cluster, etc.) bomb. The CBU-55/B holds three BLU-73/B or BLU-73A/B series parachute-retarded, fuel-air explosive (FAE) submunitions. Their release over the target is controlled by a FMU-83/B mechanical time (MT) fuze.
