The '1 Pound TNT Demolition Charge' is a US-developed, square profile, cardboard cannister with cardboard, thin metal, or plastic end caps. One of the end caps has a small well in its centre so a number eight (No. 8)-strength blasting cap (detonator) can be inserted. Present within the tube is ≈1 lb (≈454 g) of high explosive TNT, which has a small central cylindrical cavity present within it for the blasting cap.
