Two police patrol vans with 10 drug surrenders and four police escorts were hit by an improvised explosive device (IED) planted by NPA rebels at around 11:20 am on August 10 at sitio (sub-village) Pinarayan in Barangay (village) Sagrada, Viga town area in Catanduanes province.
