An Islamic State suicide bomber attacked a checkpoint in al-Barth, near the town of Rafah in the Sinai Peninsula on 25 April, killing four members of the Tarabeen tribe and wounding others. IS claimed the bombing killed 40 members of the tribe, which it said was allied with the Egyptian army, and injured more. It labelled the Tarabeen as apostates.
