An attack on the Ministry of Refugees and Returnees office in Jalalabad killed at least fifteen people, including UN and INGO staff members. Another UN aid worker was wounded in the complex attack. It began when a suicide car bomb was detonated and followed by a gunfight that lastest several hours between Afghan security forces and two shooters that had taken hostages. Reportedly, as many as thirty people were wounded and no group has taken responsibility for the attack. The attack apparently took place during a meeting with NGOs working on refugee issues.
