On 30 October 2019, in Ywar Haung Taw Village, in Mrauk-U Township, in Rakhine State, a mine exploded near a bridge in the village and killed a local from Mrauk-U city and injured another local from Kyauktaw township. A local person said that these two locals worked as excavators and they were asked to dig up a landmine by a Myanmar military column.
