In May 2014, the U.S. air force determined that an Iconscan 400 thought to be awaiting repair at Smith Detection since October 2011 had allegedly been shipped back to Lackland AFB in October 2012. However, security forces never received notification of the shipment and maintain no record of the device’s arrival. Following searches of the Lackland storage facility the location of the device still remains . Security Forces believed the device might have been sent to an old address, however following subsequent searches of that location the device remains missing.
