One ICRC staff member was critically injured when an Improvised Explosive Device in a car was detonated outside of the ICRC's office. The staff member later died in the hospital as a result of his injuries. Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack and mentioned via their media portal that they killed the victim because he was a member of Parliment.
