A truck contracted by a UN agency partner in Garissa county ran over an IED planted in the road. All three contracted employees sustained major injuries as a result of the attack. Although no group claimed responsibility for the attack, the area is prone to extremist activities by Al-Shabaab. The workers were delivering food commodities at the time.
