RPG event in Nigeria on Thu 1st March 2018

Boko Haram fighters raided the north-eastern town of Rann, home to a camp housing 55,000 internally displaced persons. Armed with automatic weapons and rocket-propelled Grenades the insurgent group attacked the military post guarding the camp. Initial reports state that 3 aid workers contracted by the UN (from two different agencies), all Nigerian nationals, were killed in the attack. One nurse, a third party contractor to a UN agency, was kidnapped. Two midwives, both female aid workers and supported by an INGO, were also kidnapped by the militant group. Other unconfirmed reports suggest that there may have been more abductions. This incident will be updated when more information becomes available. Updates: 1.
