One UN national staff member was injured by the blast after a VIED reportedly rammed the main gate of the Afrik Hotel located in Mogadishu. Reports indicate the attack is being attributed to Al Shabaab as the blast accordingly also targetted a main security checkpoint near the hotel. Media reports outline 17 civilians were killed and many injured.
