An caller contacted Hevly Technical Services Company about the disposal of a density gauge containing a radioactive source. The caller was not licensed and threatened to dispose of the gauge in a dumpster or in the desert if the licensee did not take the gauge from him. The following day a representative from Hevly Company picked up the gauge, a Troxler depth density gauge with a CS137 source. The caller also provided a second device, a Troxler depth moisture probe containing an AM241 source. The devices were inside two separate boxes labeled with different model and serial numbers. The Arizona Radiation Regulatory Agency did not find any hits on the described model and serial numbers.
