An employee of the licensee discovered on November 6, 2012 that a moisture/density gauge was stolen out of a company-owned vehicle while it was parked outside of his home in Laredo, Texas. The device contained one 8 mCi CS137 source and one 40 mCi AM241 source. The employee failed to return the gauge to the licensed location due to a family emergency requiring them to leave a temporary work site on November 2, 2012. On t morning of November 6, 2012, the employee realized he had left the device in the vehicle all weekend and realized upon checking the vehicle that it had been stolen. On February 2, 2013 the licensee recovered the device after being contacted by an person who was offering to sell the machine.
