On 22 October 2021, in Kan Htu Ma village of Taze township (Shwebo district, Sagaing region), a local PDF attacked the military and police who were inspecting at the security check point with remote-controlled explosives. The local PDF reported that at least 3 soldiers died and others were injured. A civilian who was standing nearby was also injured.
