On October 17, a militant belonging to Nikki Sumi-led faction of National Socialist Council of Nagaland-Khaplang (NSCN-K-NS) was killed in a firing incident between the NSCN-Unification (NSCN-U) and NSCN-K-NS near Khehoi Camp in Dimapur District of Nagaland, reports East Mojo. The militant identified as Atoka Kinimi, ‘additional secretary’ of NSCN-K-NS, along with other militants were heading to Khekhoi to rescue 10 abducted fellow militants from the NSCN-U camp when NSCN-U militants allegedly stopped their vehicle and started firing. During exchange of fire, Atoka was killed and another NSCN-K-NS militant was ‘arrested’ by NSCN-U militants. Despite both the militant outfits currently being in a ceasefire agreement with the government of India and tied to the Ceasefire Ground Rules, both the sides violated apparently.
