On 9 October 2021, between Ohn Ta Pyin and Bagan village (Tabayin Township, Shwebo District, Sagaing Region), an unknown armed group attacked the Myanmar military troops with landmines. The Myanmar military suffered heavy casualties. Afterwards, the Myanmar military dropped additional troops in the area three times. Casualties unknown.
