Displaced civilians injured after a monastery for war-displaced people on the banks of the Uru River in Homalin Township was bombed
Sagaing, November 1
According to information provided by local news sources, while fighting was taking place in Homalin Township, Sagaing Region, between SNA forces under the terrorist military and joint KIA forces' positions, a jet fighter from Homalin Air Base carried out a bombing attack on the monastery in Thei Zalauk Village, where displaced civilians were taking shelter.
Yesterday (October 31), at around 4:00 p.m., a jet fighter from Homalin bombed the monastery in Thei Zalauk Village on the banks of the Uru River.
Following the airstrike, seven civilians were injured, and one of them was reported to be in serious condition, according to local sources. Similarly, a monastery building and one house were damaged.
Red Peacock News Media cross-checked the monastery in Thei Zalauk Village, which was reportedly damaged by the aerial bombing, using Google Earth Pro and found that a monastery does indeed exist in Thei Zalauk Village.
The Myanmar Lawyers Council announced on September 14 that from 2021 to this year, 2026, the terrorist military has carried out 10,500 airstrikes nationwide, resulting in the deaths of more than 6,000 civilians.
The Myanmar Lawyers Council also pointed out that responsibility for these airstrikes lies not only with the terrorist military but also with the government responsible for the terrorist military.
