SAA event in Mexico on Fri 30th October 2026

An armed attack took place in Cancun, leaving two men wounded by gunfire in the city’s Region 228. Initial reports indicated that individuals in a car opened fire on other people near a secondary school. Following the attack, as the alleged assailants fled the scene, local residents called the 911 emergency number to seek help for the two men wounded in the shooting. Shortly thereafter, municipal police—acting as first responders—arrived at the intersection of 88th and 75th streets, next to the "Javier Rojo Gómez" secondary school in Cancun’s Region 228. Paramedics provided care to one of the wounded men and transported him to a hospital, where he was admitted. Residents were unable to provide further details about the attackers, other than that there were two of them and they were traveling in a black car. They fired at the victims from the vehicle before fleeing in the same car.
