Grenade event in Manipur, Bongbal Khollen, Imphal East District area, India on Mon 26th October 2026

On October 26, a joint intelligence-based operation by teams of the MN Sector Quick Action Team (QAT), Range Imphal QAT, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and CDO/Imphal East led to the recovery of a cache of arms, ammunition and explosives from the foothills of Bongbal Khollen in Imphal East District, Manipur, reports Manipur Police on X. The seized items included one A1 rifle, one .303 light machine gun (LMG), two 9 mm pistols, five 12-bore guns (two double-barrel and three single-barrel), three No. 36 hand grenades without detonators, one Chinese hand grenade, one MG-2 rifle grenade, one Pompi shell and four wireless radio sets with a charger. A large quantity of assorted ammunition was also recovered. The seized items were handed over to Thoubal Dam Police Station for further action.
