IED event in Jammu and Kashmir, Kasbalari, Poonch District area, India on Fri 23rd October 2026

On October 23, Security Forces (SFs) recovered suspected explosive materials during a search operation in the Kasbalari area of Mendhar in Poonch District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), reports Greater Kashmir. The recoveries included one black bag, six brown tape-insulated containers suspected to be improvised explosive devices (IEDs), one blue tape-insulated container also suspected to be an IED, one combat pouch, one black iron box suspected to be a magazine, one magazine suspected to be for a 7.62 mm light machine gun (LMG), one aluminium container, two power adapters and a power source, and one tiffin. Further investigation has been initiated.
