On October 20, Police recovered an abandoned grenade near a temple in Chattyar village in Rajouri District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) and destroyed it in a controlled explosion, reports Daily Excelsior. According to officials, some children playing with construction material noticed the explosive device near the temple and alerted the village head, who informed the local police station. A police team and a bomb disposal squad were subsequently dispatched to the spot. No damage was reported. A preliminary assessment suggested that the device may have arrived in the village along with construction material. Police have launched an investigation to determine how the grenade reached the area.
