Grenade event in Jammu and Kashmir, Rajouri District area, India on Mon 19th October 2026
19th October 2026
On October 19, 2026, Security Forces (SFs) recovered nine Under-Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL) grenades, an AK-47 magazine and 18 rounds of AK ammunition from a natural cave allegedly used as a terrorist hideout in Rajouri District, Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), reports NDTV. The recovery followed a joint search operation launched in the morning in the Chor Hill area of Panch Gabbar, Kotranka tehsil (revenue unit), following specific intelligence about the presence of a hideout. During the operation, the troops discovered a natural cave inside the forest containing the grenades, magazine and ammunition. Officials said the recovery had potentially foiled an attempt by terrorists to carry out subversive activities in the area. Further searches were underway in the area to determine whether additional weapons, ammunition or other material had been concealed nearby.
