On October 15, a Kuki woman was killed and two civilians went missing in a suspected ambush between Molnoi and Phaikoh in Kamjong District, Manipur, reports India Today NE. The Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) alleged that cadres of the National Socialist Council of Nagalim-Isak-Muivah (NSCN-IM) were responsible for the attack. According to KIM, four civilians travelling on two two-wheelers were targeted in the incident. The deceased was identified as Hatneikim Haokip, wife of Jangkhongam Haokip, who reportedly died at the spot. Her husband sustained bullet injuries but escaped. The other two civilians, D. Paokhothang Haokip and his wife, Boishi Haokip, remained missing.
