On October 10, Police recovered a cache of arms and explosives during a search operation in the Mukaam Cherhar forest area in Sopore District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), reports Asianet News. The recovery included two assault rifles, four pistols, a multi-grenade launcher, 11 hand grenades, three Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) with remote controls, detonators and timers. An FIR was registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), the Arms Act and the Explosive Substances Act. Further investigation is underway to identify those involved and establish possible terrorist links.
