Four family members, including a child, killed after two terrorist military jet fighters based in Myeik carried out a bombing attack

Tanintharyi, October 30

According to a local news source, the terrorist military carried out bombing attacks on Kanyin Chaung Village and Myaw Chaung Village in Thayetchaung Township, Tanintharyi Region, where no fighting was taking place, resulting in the deaths of four civilians, including a child.

Today (October 30), at around 12 noon, two terrorist military jet fighters based in Myeik bombed Kanyin Chaung Village and Myaw Chaung Village, located 24 miles from Thayetchaung Township.

As a result of this bombing attack, four civilians, including a ten-year-old child, were killed, and there were also people who were injured, according to the local news source.

According to a statement issued by KNU - Mergui-Tavoy District, a total of four people were killed: a 10-year-old girl, a 23-year-old man, a 25-year-old man, and a 93-year-old woman. In addition, two houses, one school, and two motorcycles were damaged or destroyed.

According to an official from KNU - Mergui-Tavoy District, the condition of two girls aged 10 and 15 and one 35-year-old man who were injured is considered critical.

A local resident said:

“Children were studying in the classroom. At the time the bombs were dropped, the village clinic was also nearby, but the bomb did not hit the clinic and instead landed beside a villager’s house. It struck a house next to the school. Inside the house were a husband and wife, a grandmother, and a child who had been attending classes at the school. They died instantly. Three other people were injured.”

The Myanmar Lawyers Council stated on September 14 that from 2021 through this year, 2026, the terrorist military had conducted 10,500 airstrikes nationwide, resulting in the deaths of more than 6,000 civilians.

The Myanmar Lawyers Council also pointed out that responsibility for these airstrikes lies not only with the terrorist military but also with the government that is responsible for the military.
