On 21 October 2026, Russian forces (units of the 'Center' group using operational-tactical aviation, combat UAVs, missile forces, and artillery) struck the Ukrainian personnel and equipment, including three marine brigades, two National Guard brigades and the 'Azov' special forces brigade (coded to Stepove) near Starovarvarivka, Donetsk.
