On 21 October 2026, Russian forces (units of the 'West' group using operational-tactical aviation, combat UAVs, missile forces, and artillery) struck the Ukrainian personnel and equipment, including a territorial defense brigade (coded to Bohorodychne) near Osynovo, Kharkiv. According to Russian sources, Ukrainian military lost: 16 vehicles, one artillery piece, one electronic warfare station and up to 200 Ukrainian servicemen were killed near Pleskachivka, Tamarhanivka, Raihorodok, Osynovo, and Bohorodychne [Russian MoD reported 200 fatalities.
