On 18 October 2026, the Malian army conducted an airstrike near Sardina (Diamnati, Bandiagara, Mopti). The army claimed to have conducted the airstrike on a gathering point of a militant group housing military equipment and motorcycles (likely JNIM, based on the group's presence and previous similar operations against it in the Bandiagara cercle) 35km south-west of Douentza. Casualties unknown. The airstrikes took place following a JNIM attack on a Dan Na Ambassagou position in the nearby village of Diambia on the same day and the looting of livestock in Dalekanda, the birthplace of Dan Na Ambassagou leader Youssouf Toloba (both coded separately).
