On 19 October 2026, night, Iranian naval authorities reported that two light projectiles struck a 35 mm anti-aircraft gun at Konarak Naval Base (Konarak, Sistan and Baluchestan), likely injuring two Iranian Navy personnel. Separately, some reports claimed that U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornets struck IRGC Navy positions in retaliation for 'Iranian attempts to target a US Navy Arleigh Burke-class destroyer', while another account attributed the strike to a U.S. MQ-9 drone. However, a US official explicitly denied that American forces attacked the base. The details of the event remain disputed.
