On 23 October 2026, in Puerto Santander (Norte de Santander), unidentified perpetrators detonated an explosive device targeting a police patrol in 16 de Julio neighborhood. The device had been placed near a gas service company's premises at the entrance to the town and exploded as the officers passed. Following the attack, municipal authorities imposed a curfew until the afternoon of 24 October. There were no casualties.
