On 15 October 2026, suspected Malay Muslim separatists threw two explosive devices at a Subdistrict Protection Unit base in Ngo Kapo village, Bannang Sata, Bannang Sata (Yala). One device exploded near the personnel quarters, injuring five Volunteer Defense Corps officers, while the other failed to detonate. The injured officers were taken to Bannang Sata Hospital for treatment.
