On 15 October 2021, Turkish army forces carried out airstrikes against PKK militants in Kandil (Silsilat Jibal Qandil) region in Rawanduz district of Erbil. National Intelligence Organization of Turkey supported the operation. Tengi Mawnan area (Kurdish name) in the vicinity of Kandil mountain was also bombed. Casualties unknown.
