On 7 October 2021, in the rural area of Astilleros La Ye corregimiento, El Zulia municipality (Norte de Santander), unidentified individuals set off an explosive device as a police patrol was passing near the Taconazo area. The explosion injured an officer and two civilians. The area is known for the presence of armed groups.
