Some escaped prisoners of war and their leader Phoe Thar re-arrested with one weapon in Pauk Township

Magway, October 27

In Magway Region, Pauk Township, some prisoners of war who had escaped, along with their leader Phoe Thar, were re-arrested, according to a local news source.

The local source said that eight prisoners of war were re-arrested on October 25, and that a person known as Phoe Thar was re-arrested yesterday (October 26).

A local source said:

“Seven are still remaining. Ten have been captured. Only one weapon has been recovered. The rest are still being searched for. They are still resisting. Because air activity is occurring quite frequently, the search for the remaining people is still ongoing. Phoe Thar, who had led them away on the 26th, was captured.”

Of the 14 prisoners of war captured during the battle to seize the Myitche Police Station, 13 had been detained in the detention facility of the Magway Region Medical Corps due to the need for holding cells.

On October 21, a member of the regional medical corps, Phoe Thar, took three guards hostage, led the prisoners of war away, and escaped with them.

In addition, according to the local news source, they took away four firearms and 200 rounds of ammunition.

Red Peacock News is attempting to independently verify the number of prisoners of war who escaped, the number who have since been recaptured, and the number who remain at large.
